SVG is based on XML unlike Canvas. Therefore, SVG is more suitable than Canvas for creating vector graphics-based applications and interfaces.

The elements created in a Canvas do not support event handlers, unlike SVG which is based on the DOM.

It is possible to natively render SVG pixel-by-pixel, just like Canvas.

Only the Canvas technology provides a 3D context for rendering 3D applications.

Canvas does not support CSS.
